The Corporate Sponsorship Program offers regional businesses a variety of flexible options for profiling their products, services and branding to the GCCS community. Recognition is provided through signage at key events, publications in various print materials, and online web, e-marketing and social media platforms.
The sponsorship cycle runs for 12 months from date of sign up so that each sponsor receives full coverage and equalized profile to the GCCS community. The program is not intended for quid pro quo situations and does not apply to revenue share models in place of advertising cash support. The recognition associated with the program is tied to a company’s advertising budget and is not considered a donation for tax purposes.
The Major Gift Program at Guelph Community Christian school is designed to support teachers, students, parents, facilities and general operating budget. All funds provided under the major gift program are considered donations that qualify for donation receipts for income tax purposes. A major gift at GCCS is considered a pledge or cash contribution of a minimum of $5,000 CAD in a given calendar year. All funding designations directly or indirectly provide savings to the operating budget and meet the most pressing budgetary needs.
The goal for the Major Gift Program for 2016 is to raise $150,000 across the funding designations. For the bursary designation, we have a matching gift program whereby each dollar donated for bursaries will receive a 1:1 match up to $25,000.
Guelph Community Christian School’s Planned Giving Program is facilitated and administered by the Christian School Foundation.
The Christian School Foundation is an amalgamation of the Central Ontario Christian Education Foundation (COCEF), Foundation for Niagara & Hamilton area Christian Schools (FNHCS) and Grand River Advancement of Christian Education (GRACE) Foundation.
The Christian School Foundation pulls together experts in financial planning, tax law and estate planning to offer a range of inspiration, information and services to donors and their advisors so that gifts to the Christian school movement are received and managed in a stewardly and God-honouring way. It also works with its member schools to ensure that the stories of God’s faithfulness and blessing are collected and shared.
All funds donated to the Christian School Foundation in respect of Guelph Community Christian School directly benefit our school. In addition to the school's general endowment fund, the opportunity exists for donors to tailor their gift to suit their philanthropic interests. This includes designating gifts or creating funds for specific purposes (e.g., bursaries, enhancements to music or athletic programs, purchase of technology or debt retirement, etc.) and also over specific timeframes (e.g., a permanent endowment or a flow-through gift over a certain number of years). The Christian School Foundation also has expertise in assisting donors with bequests and other planned giving.

The Annual Giving Program at Guelph Community Christian School encompasses three core fundraising initiatives: the Walk-a-thon, the Fall Fund Drive, and the Gift Card Program. These programs accept donations of all shapes and sizes and raise over $90,000 per year cumulatively for the School’s operating budget and as well as student bursaries.
About the Walk-a-thon
The Walk-a-thon is an annual student fundraiser that happens each year in April. GCCS students collect sponsorship donations to encourage them to walk for a pre-determined distance at the Walk-a-thon event. Over $45,000 was raised in 2020.
About the Fall Fund Drive
The Fall Fund Drive is an annual mail/call program which involves approximately 15 current parents who call over 300 previous donors to GCCS for annual contributions. The calling program runs from Thanksgiving Weekend to the first week of December and raises over $50,000 annually for the general operating fund. Donations are received from parents, grandparents, alumni and friends of GCCS.
