A Note from Our Board Chair
The tradition of Christian education was not borne out of a desire to protect children from an “outside” world, but rather to provide a place where they could experience how the love of the Father, the grace of Jesus Christ, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit integrate and extend to all aspects of creation. It is to provide a worldview based on what the Bible tells us about God and what our identity is in Him. We are His hands and feet for the world, and we want our children to join in that calling.
Proverbs 22:6 tells us to “train children up in the way they should go” and Deuteronomy 6:7 calls us to “teach the Lord’s commandments diligently to our children”. Making the commitment of sending our children to Christian school is a way of living out these encouragements from the Bible.
Guelph Community Christian School exists to help parents fulfill this responsibility. The membership of our school – made up of parents and committed community folks – elects a Board who sets the vision and goals for the school. You can view the current Strategic Plan through the link on this page. We entrust the operational aspects of school life to our Chief Operating Officer and Principal, Marvin Bierling. He along with the staff and various committees look to work out the day-to-day aspects of this plan.
We have an amazing, compassionate staff who are dedicated to inspiring the students through Christian education. Parents are an integral part of this equation as well. We encourage you to get involved by visiting and volunteering within your gift areas, whether that be in sports, finance, governance, or another calling.
Our theme verse for the year is 2 Corinthians 4:6: "For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." Please join us as we let light shine in and through our children, staff, and the surrounding community.
